Nashville Weekend "It" List: The Grass is Greener Edition

Earth Day

This is one hell of a rock & roll weekend! And Earth Day none to less! I have to say that I am pretty thrilled about the Rites of Spring lineup. I am not, however, thrilled about tonight's weather forecast...

And there is so much good stuff going on at the Belcourt. The weekend classic this week stars two of my favorites: Cary Grant, James Stewart and Katharine Hepburn in The Philadelphia Story. On Sunday you can check out the 4/20 Film Fest presented by NORML. They'll be playing Reefer Madness, Grass, Busted (a 1 hr PBS Frontline special) and the world premier of Super High Me. The cost is $20 for one or all of the films and they are getting started at the appropriate time of 4:20 p.m.

Hot Nashville Music Sales of the Week

Because of a website snafu we haven't had Grimey's list in two week but we're back. I'm happy to say one of our favorite artists De Novo Dahl is on the list. If you want a sample of their music check out the Nashville Feed podcast episode 2 for which we were lucky enough to have two songs on from the Cats and Kittens album. Also I'm happy to say that every artist on the list is available for download in the Amazon MP3 DRM free store which means I don't have to add separate links to downloads. The digital downloads work with any MP3 player including iTunes and usually cost several dollars less than the CD version. Meaning if your not sure of an artist to pay full price for the CD you can dip in one single at a time. Enjoy and support our local record retailer.

On behalf of XL Recordings and Warner Bros Records, many thanks for plugging “Consolers Of The Lonely” ... .. thanks also, on behalf of the labels and The Raconteurs, for not posting any pirate links although, if your readers would like a good quality, non-pirated, preview clip, a widget of the promo video for “Salute Your Solution” is available for fans and bloggers to embed at http://www.theraconteurs.com/widget.html
