What an incredibly exhausting week: mentally, physically and emotionally. In the past week, we have seen shining examples of Tennessee volunteerism and pride; and this weekend and the weeks ahead give us further opportunity to lend a hand to our neighbors. There are numerous flood benefit shows going on, and plenty of volunteering opportunities with Hands On Nashville.
Friday, May 7:
- Christopher Cross and the Nashville Symphony Orchestra at the Metro Courthouse. 8pm. This concert was originally scheduled at the flooded Schermerhorn, but will now be a free outdoor concert.
- Flood Relief Benefit featuring The Jack Silverman Ordeal at the Family Wash. 9pm.
- Flood Benefit featuring Tim Chad and Sherry w/ Chris Crofton and The Bridges at the Basement. 9pm.
Saturday, May 8:
- Flood Benefit featuring Diarrhea Planet, Bad Cop, POWERBRRRD, Frank the Fuck Out & Spanish Candles at The End.
Sunday, May 9:
- Flood Benefit Show featuring Pujol, Heavy Cream, Diarrhea Planet & more at Rocketown
Additional ways to help:
- Community Foundation of Middle TN
- Hands On Nashville
- Dine Out for Nashville Monday, May 17.
- Nashvillest has the latest.
Please feel free to leave additional suggestions and opportunities in the comments.
Cheers,
J.
