R stands for:  Record Store Day, Rites of Spring and RAIN.  You know how it always seems to rain the day after your wash your car?  It also always seems to rain the weekend of Rites of Spring.  Seriously, can anyone give me one example in the past 5 years of a dry Rites of Spring?  Just curious.

Well, if you don’t feel like donning a poncho, there is plenty indoor stuff to keep you busy tonight.  Tomorrow shouldn’t be too bad, so it is not a total loss.

  • Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit at the 5 Spot.  8pm ($15)
  • The Greenhornes w/ Hacienda & Pujol at Mercy Lounge.  9pm ($12-14)
  • Record Store Dayfeaturing The Mattoid, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Hunx and His Punx & more at Grimey’s New & Preloved Music.  10am (free!)
  • Record Store Day hosted by Chris Crofton featuring Hacienda, The Shakes, Evan P. Donahue, Bad Cop, Diarrhea Planet, The Coolin’ System & more at the Groove Records.  12pm (free!)
  • Record Store Day featuring Jerry Lee Lewis atThird Man Records.  5pm ($30)
  • Live Band Karaoke featuring Rage Against the Machine’s Evil Empire as performed by Take the Power Back & Power/Load:  AC/DC Tribute at Exit/In.  8pm ($10-12)
